Sake Block: A Festival of Sake & Ceramics is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Morean Center for Clay in St. Petersburg. The event is being held on World Sake Day, which marks the beginning of the brewing season.
Certified sake sommelier and educator Noah Sain is staging the festival with the Morean Center for Clay. Organizers expect 10 sake vendors, including friends of Sain's from Japanese sake breweries, along with a VIP early-admission tasting option.
General admission includes a 10-sake passport and access to a bottle shop offering discounted bottles. Tickets were listed at $80 and up.
Beyond the tastings, the evening will include live jazz, a DJ, gyotaku fish printing and live pottery firing. The event also aims to offer activities for guests who do not drink.
