Book lovers can browse more than 1,000 books at the Friends of the Safety Harbor Library Book Sale, held at Safety Harbor Public Library. The sale also includes puzzles, CDs, DVDs and other items, with most merchandise priced at $2, according to organizers.
There is no admission charge for the sale, which supports library services and current offerings. Friends of the Safety Harbor Library volunteers organize the inventory, and unsold books are slated to go to Book Rescuers in Largo.
The library dates to 1938, when it was established by the local Women’s Civic Club, and has since been expanded and renovated. A second floor was added last year.
Elsewhere around Tampa Bay during the Sept. 24-Oct. 1 stretch, the calendar includes theater productions in Tampa, Largo, Plant City and St. Petersburg, book talks and signings across the region, art events in St. Petersburg and a Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias comedy performance in Tampa.
