The transformation of The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure is moving fast. Fresh aerial photography from photographer bioreconstruct shows that the iconic temple facade of Poseidon's Fury — already partially down in earlier updates — has now been completely removed, along with the courtyard that once held a towering Poseidon statue. The statue's feet, trident, surrounding rockwork, and all remaining entrance elements are gone, leaving a wide field of broken concrete in their place.

Multiple excavators are working the site, circling the exposed show building on dirt tracks cut for heavy machinery. With the facade stripped away, the structure's interior is now visible from nearly every angle — structural columns, catwalks, ductwork, acoustic panels, and tangled framing all hang open to the sky. Crews have already worked through several of the sequential chambers guests once walked through, including areas associated with the attraction's moving-wall finale sequence. The central roof and upper exterior walls are still standing, suggesting interior dismantlement will continue for some time.

Across the construction zone, the former site of The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad — which closed in 2018 — tells a different story. That theater has been completely razed and its footprint largely graded. Aerial views show a large mound of soil near the center and construction vehicles spread across the cleared land. A backstage road separates the two work areas, and some smaller Lost Continent structures remain between them. Mythos Restaurant, still standing along the park lagoon, is slated for its own permanent closure in 2027.

Together, the two demolished show buildings are carving out a substantial development footprint between Seuss Landing and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. A construction permit recently filed naming ride-engineering firm Garmendale has drawn attention, though Universal Orlando Resort has not confirmed any connection to future plans and has not publicly revealed what will replace The Lost Continent. Poseidon's Fury originally opened with the park in 1999 and closed permanently in May 2023.
