Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport just wrapped up the busiest single month in its history, with June pushing the Panhandle gateway to a milestone that airport leaders say signals strong momentum heading into the second half of the year.
The record June capped a first half of 2026 in which more than one million passengers moved through ECP — putting the airport firmly on pace for what could be another record-setting year overall.
That surge in demand is fueling several large-scale infrastructure projects already in the works. Plans include an 80,000-square-foot north terminal expansion, a fuel farm expansion, and additional parking improvements designed to keep pace with growing crowds.
The north terminal project is expected to wrap up in early 2028, adding new gates along with restaurants and other passenger amenities. ECP Airport Authority Chairman Will Cramer called the growth a win that extends well beyond the airport itself, noting the positive ripple effects for the broader regional economy.
