Several Northeast Florida law-enforcement agencies have canceled National Night Out events because of expected inclement weather.
The canceled events were announced by the St. Augustine Beach Police Department, Lake City Police Department and Baker County Sheriff’s Office, according to News4JAX.
National Night Out is an annual campaign intended to help police agencies build partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Local gatherings commonly include children’s activities, food, opportunities to meet officers or deputies, K-9 demonstrations and other activities.
News4JAX reported that additional cancellations could be announced as weather conditions develop.
