A wave of new openings is giving Central Florida food lovers plenty of reasons to venture beyond their usual spots. The Nazca Lines, a new Peruvian restaurant led by native Peruvian chef Santiago Gomero — formerly of Off the Hook — has debuted at 3260 N. U.S. Highway 17-92 in Longwood, taking over the old Happy Teriyaki space. Meanwhile, Vietnamese fast-casual favorite Viet-Nomz is set to move into 1330 N. Orange Ave. in Winter Park sometime in August, bringing pho, banh mi, rice bowls, and bao to the space vacated by Yummii 2 Go.

The big headline in the brewery world belongs to Crooked Can Brewing Co., which has opened its new location at 1600 Crooked Can Loop in Minneola at the Hills City Center. The sprawling 43,000-square-foot space bills itself as Florida's largest craft brewery and anchors a food hall featuring vendors including AJ's Pizza Joint, Empanada & Co., Brazilian steakhouse Braza, Daniel's Cheesesteaks, Sir Benji's Donuts, and This Little Piggy BBQ, with Norigami and Kai Kai BBQ & Dumplings still to come.

Downtown Orlando gets a sweet addition on July 25, when MilkShake Factory opens at 595 W. Church St. in the City View Apartments' ground floor. The shop specializes in hand-spun milkshakes made with homemade ice cream, handcrafted sundaes, molten chocolate cups, and house-made chocolate treats. Opening day will include buy-one-get-one shakes, sundaes, and molten cups, plus free T-shirts for the first 100 guests and a DJ set. Also on the dessert-and-drinks front, Bora Bora Smoothie Cafe has already opened at 10065 University Blvd., serving fruit and ice cream smoothies, açai bowls, and sweet and savory croffles.

A couple of familiar names are also making moves. Red Lobster will reopen its Kissimmee location at 7780 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway on July 29, sporting a refreshed exterior and interior just in time for the chain's annual Crabfest promotion. And Winter Garden favorites The Chef's Table and The Tasting Room have announced plans to relocate to the historic Bond Building — The Tasting Room at 2 W. Plant St. and The Chef's Table next door at 12 W. Plant St. — though both moves aren't expected until mid-2027, with current service continuing uninterrupted in the meantime.
