Royal Caribbean has revised the upcoming Navigator of the Seas itinerary as Hurricane Polo moves near Mexico’s western coast. The Category 5 storm prompted the cruise line to steer the ship away from the forecasted weather conditions.
Guests will now spend a sea day in place of the planned Ensenada visit. Cabo San Lucas has also been removed, with Mazatlán taking its place before the ship calls at Puerto Vallarta from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Royal Caribbean said pre-paid shore excursions booked through the cruise line for Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas will be refunded as onboard credit. Any unused amount will be returned to the credit card connected to the guest’s onboard account after the sailing ends.
The National Hurricane Center described Polo as an extremely dangerous storm, with hazardous surf, heavy rain, possible flooding and mudslides among the expected regional impacts. Source: Royal Caribbean Blog.
