Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is about to get a whole lot more intuitive. Disney has previewed a major update coming to the My Disney Experience app and the Disney World website: an optional AI assistant that lets guests describe their ideal trip in plain conversational language and then generates personalized suggestions to match.

The tool works by listening to your priorities — travel dates, resort preferences, budget, a child's favorite character — and responding with tailored recommendations. In one example shared during the preview, a family hoping to celebrate a Lion King–obsessed child's birthday received suggestions for the Lion King suite at Art of Animation and a room at Animal Kingdom Lodge, complete with a side-by-side price comparison and notes on transportation, like the Art of Animation's access to the Disney Skyliner. A separate example showed a mom upgrading from a Value to a Moderate resort for a princess-loving daughter, with the AI landing on the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

Beyond just matching you to a room, the assistant will scan for the best available rates, alert you if prices drop after you've made a selection, and even display a date-range view — similar to what airline booking sites show — so families can plan around the lowest prices rather than fixed dates. A new interactive property map will also let planners visualize resort locations alongside their prices at a glance. Once a reservation is set, the AI does a final check to confirm you're getting the best rate on the hotel, park tickets, and any dining options selected.

At launch, the feature will have some limitations — it won't immediately handle highly specific requests like special-event availability, Lightning Lane, or dining reservations, though Disney says those capabilities are planned for future updates. Itinerary sharing is also part of the rollout, letting guests send a trip plan directly to friends, family, or a travel agent via a shareable link. The tool will first reach select users through a beta test before a broader release, and guests who prefer the existing planning experience can continue using the app as they always have.

Disney noted that the AI was applied conservatively, only in areas where it was truly needed to meet the feature's goals. Full details on the new My Disney Experience features were first reported by the Disney Food Blog.
