Construction crews have been busy giving the restrooms building near the future Monstropolis land at Disney's Hollywood Studios a fitting new look. Once themed to the Muppets' Gonzo's Royal Flush, the exterior now sports scale-like shingles across its front and side walls, along with toothy decorative trim that fits right in with the Monsters, Inc. aesthetic.
The monster-themed detailing has expanded steadily over the past few weeks. The scales and trim are currently unpainted gray, but they'll receive a full coat of color later in the construction process. Some elements, like fake rivets placed between painted-on windows, have already been finished in a brown-gold hue, giving a preview of the textured, layered look the building will eventually have.
The restrooms sit attached to the former PizzeRizzo location, which is being transformed into Archie's Scare Pig Pizza — a new dining spot that will serve the Monstropolis area when it opens. The broader Monstropolis land is expected to debut in phases beginning next year.
