Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns to Magic Kingdom on August 7, 2026, and while the Halloween-themed nights promise trick-or-treating, special character meet-and-greets, and themed food and merchandise, there are some important ground rules to understand before you arrive.
Party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m., but the event itself doesn't officially begin until 7 p.m. That three-hour window creates an overlap with regular daytime guests, so Disney uses wristbands to distinguish who has paid for party access — and those wristbands matter more than you might expect. Without one, guests cannot join exclusive character meet-and-greet lines or purchase party-only food and merchandise, even if they're already inside the park.
Costumes are welcome, but come with limits. Guests 14 and older cannot wear costume masks at all. Younger children may wear masks, provided they don't fully cover the face and leave the eyes visible. Disney's standard dress code applies throughout the evening as well.
Prop weapons — even costume accessories — fall under scrutiny too. Disney prohibits anything that closely resembles or could be mistaken for a real firearm, knife, sword, or similar weapon. If there's any doubt about whether a prop will pass security, the safest move is to leave it at home.
