3 Magic Kingdom Rides Run Differently During Halloween Party

If you're heading to Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this fall, three attractions are running in forms you simply cannot experience on a regular park day. The overlays are already live — the first party night of 2026 kicked off August 7 — and they run on select evenings through October 31.

The biggest draw is Space Mountain. During the party, every light in the ride is switched off, taking an already dim coaster into complete darkness. You won't see a turn, a drop, or anything else coming. It's a meaningfully different experience from the standard version, and longtime party-goers frequently rank it among the most intense things in the park on a Halloween night.

Mad Tea Party also gets a seasonal makeover, swapping in a spooky soundtrack and adding atmospheric lighting effects throughout the ride. The change is subtle enough that guests who aren't expecting it might not register it immediately, but the lighting in particular shifts the mood considerably. Meanwhile, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor keeps its interactive comedy-show format while weaving in Halloween-themed content — making it a solid air-conditioned rest stop between the parade, fireworks, and trick-or-treating stops.

It's worth noting that none of these overlays exist outside the separately ticketed event. On a standard park day, all three run in their normal configurations. Party crowds also tend to produce shorter wait times than a typical Magic Kingdom afternoon, which makes working all three into an evening more manageable than it might sound. The full attraction lineup during the party spans every land, from Pirates of the Caribbean and Tiana's Bayou Adventure to TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
