The Life Time Miami Marathon & Half returns Sunday, January 31, 2027, with the full marathon and half marathon both sold out. If you are already registered, race-weekend planning starts well before the early alarm: bib pickup is centered at the Expo in Wynwood, transportation requires a little forethought, and your bib must match your own official registration.

What the 2027 sold-out waitlist means

The official entry waitlist closed September 30, 2026. Beginning Monday, October 5, selections are being made by lottery as spots arise, rather than in order of signup. Availability can come from runners who withdraw or from waitlisted runners who do not complete registration after receiving an invitation.

If selected, look for an email from [email protected] and act quickly: the registration link is valid for about 48 hours. A missed deadline means the invitation expires and the place moves on to another person. Add that sender to your safe-sender list and keep an eye on spam and promotions folders. Waitlist invitations are for paid registration, not a free replacement entry; the listed 2027 waitlist prices are $250 for the marathon and $225 for the half, before applicable taxes and processing fees. Discounts and promo codes do not apply.

Do not buy or wear somebody else’s bib informally. The race does offer an official transfer process, subject to capacity, through Let’s Do This before the January 22, 2027 deadline. The transfer fee is $40 for marathon and half-marathon entries, and the recipient receives a newly assigned bib only after completing the official process. A private handoff of a bib can lead to removal from results or the course.

Expo dates, location and bib pickup

The free, public Life Time Miami Marathon & Half Expo is at Mana Wynwood, 318 NW 23rd St., Miami. It runs Friday, January 29, from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday, January 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Beyond packet collection, expect official merchandise and running-industry exhibitors, so it is worth allowing more time than a quick in-and-out stop.

For most runners, this is where bib pickup happens. Bring a photo ID and have the Life Time Digital app downloaded before arriving; staff will check the event pass in the app. One booking QR code can cover everyone registered in the same transaction, even if only one participant name displays on the pass. If a friend is collecting your materials, they need a copy of your photo ID.

At the pickup counters, marathon and half participants receive a bib with the timing tag attached, gear-check tag, safety pins, clear gear-check bag and participant shirt. Fill in the emergency and medical information on the back of the bib before Sunday. Keep the bib flat and visible on the front of your outermost layer; it is your timing credential and your entry to the course.

There is a $40 bib-mailing add-on for eligible runners who registered by October 31, 2026, with shipping limited to continental U.S. street addresses. Mailing speeds up race weekend, but it does not include the shirt, bag or add-on items. Those can be collected at the Expo, or the shirt and bag can be collected at the Finish Festival’s Results tent if you bring the mailed bib. Treat a mailed bib like a passport: organizers say replacements will not be available.

A note on race-morning pickup

Plan on the Expo, not Sunday-morning pickup. The main Expo information says there is no race-day bib pickup, while the current FAQ also lists a limited 6:00 to 6:45 a.m. packet-pickup window at the registration tent by the Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island. Because those published instructions do not fully align, consider the Expo mandatory unless the race confirms your specific race-morning option directly. Check current details shortly before travel rather than risking your start.

Getting through race weekend smoothly

  • Use the free Expo shuttle if you are staying in Miami Beach. It runs between Meridian Avenue near 18th–19th Streets and Mana Wynwood: 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday, first come, first served.
  • Handle changes early. Online changes, including distance changes, close at 11:59 p.m. ET on January 22. After that, any available help is handled at Expo Solutions counters and is not guaranteed. A corral-review request needs official results from the past 12 months.
  • Have a start-line transport plan. The paid race-morning shuttle departs from the Miami Beach Convention Center area at 4 a.m.; shuttle tickets can be added online or purchased at the Expo if space remains. Pick up the physical shuttle ticket at the Expo unless you used bib mailing and have online purchase proof.
  • Pack for an early morning. Start-line access opens at 5 a.m. near Kaseya Center, with the marathon and half beginning at 6 a.m. The finish is at Bayfront Park. A compact portable phone charger is handy for the event pass, meetup messages and post-race photos.

Practical takeaway: Secure your official entry, choose Friday Expo pickup if possible, and make your transport decision before Saturday afternoon—those three steps make Miami Marathon weekend far calmer.
