One of Jeff Vahle's last official acts as President of Walt Disney World was a deeply personal one: overseeing the installation of a new Main Street U.S.A. window honoring Maribeth Bisienere, who retired after nearly 31 years with the Walt Disney Company. Vahle himself stepped down from his role on July 31, making the ceremony one of his final celebrations at the resort.
For guests who've never given those charming storefront windows a second glance, they're actually a kind of permanent honor roll — each one designed to look like a fictional business while quietly paying tribute to real Disney employees, executives, Imagineers, and other key contributors, often with nods to the person's career or the attractions they helped shape.
Bisienere's window places her among the faculty of the fictional Academy of Talent Education, alongside Phil Holmes, Trevor Larsen, Jim Macphee, and Djuan Rivers — a fitting tribute given her reputation for investing in Cast Member development. During her career she held roles including General Manager of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, General Manager of Disney's Contemporary Resort, and most recently Senior Vice President of Operations overseeing resorts, transportation, food and beverage, merchandise, and more.
The ceremony was also attended by Joe Schott, who is set to take over as Walt Disney World President on August 3, and Thomas Mazloum, the new chairman of Disney Experiences — giving the moment a clear sense of one chapter closing and another beginning.
