Collectors, start your coin rolls. Ahead of the September 14 opening of The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios, a first look has arrived at the pressed pennies and collectible medallions guests will find inside the attraction's gift shop, the Studio Store.
The pressed penny machines — part of the next-generation rollout Walt Disney World has been expanding across the resort — offer eight designs, each pairing The Magic of Disney Animation wordmark with a beloved character: Tinker Bell, Mickey, Moana, Rapunzel, Dumbo, Mulan, Chip 'n' Dale, and Donald. Guests can snag a single penny for $1 or grab all eight for $5 — several of those characters will also be available for meet-and-greets inside the attraction itself.
On the medallion side, there are four designs — two golden and two silver — all featuring The Magic of Disney Animation wordmark on the reverse. The front designs spotlight Mickey and Minnie (drawn directly from the short film Once Upon a Studio), Stitch, Genie, and Ariel with Flounder. The latter three pay tribute to animated films developed at Disney's former Florida animation studio. A single medallion runs $10, while the full set of four is priced at $35.
