The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park is now expected to remain closed until sometime in November 2026, according to Walt Disney World Resort’s website.
The railroad began its refurbishment September 28 and had initially been scheduled to reopen October 30. Disney has not announced a specific November reopening date.
Visitors also cannot access the second floor of the Main Street, U.S.A., station during the shutdown. Disney Fanatic reported that the final open staircase was roped off September 30, joining the station’s other blocked entrances. The upper level includes a collectible medallion machine and views over Main Street, U.S.A.
When the railroad returns, it is expected to continue operating as a shuttle between Main Street, U.S.A., and Storybook Circus in Fantasyland. Frontierland Station is expected to stay closed while work continues on the planned Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land development in that area of Magic Kingdom.
