Work on the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock expansion has reached a visible new stage, with boards installed across the project’s framework to create a dock surface.
Timber pilings were placed and cut along the outer edge of the expansion last month. The newer decking now sits above that structure, and mooring cleats have been added along the dock’s edge.
Disney filed for the project permit in February, and the state water management district approved it in March. The expansion follows the 2021 addition of second-level ferryboat ramps, which enabled guests to disembark from both boat decks more quickly.
