If you're planning a Magic Kingdom visit between now and October 31, the date you choose matters more than ever. Walt Disney World launched its 2026 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season on August 7, and on party nights, regular Magic Kingdom admission ends at 6 p.m. — leaving standard ticketholders without the evening shows they may have been counting on.
The separately ticketed Halloween party begins at 7 p.m. and runs until midnight, with party guests allowed to enter as early as 4 p.m. Those party-exclusive hours come with their own entertainment lineup, including Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular — but that means Happily Ever After and Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away are off the table for party nights entirely. Guests who want those regular nighttime spectaculars need to pick a non-party date, when Magic Kingdom frequently stays open until 10 or 11 p.m.
Opening times on party days also vary more than you might expect. While August 7 and several other dates open at 8 a.m. (with Early Theme Park Entry at 7:30 a.m.), some August party dates are currently listed with a 9 a.m. opening. Disney's official Hours and Events Calendar is the only reliable source for day-specific times, since hours remain subject to change right up to your visit.
Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts should also be aware that Extended Evening Hours — the late-night perk tied to those hotel categories — won't always land at Magic Kingdom during party season. Disney has shifted that benefit to Animal Kingdom on August 26 and September 2, and to Hollywood Studios on September 16. The perk is still available; it just may not be at the park you planned around. The same divided calendar pattern is set to return when Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off November 8, running through December 22 on select dates.
