The Jacksonville Humane Society will hold its 28th annual Toast to the Animals fundraiser at 6 p.m. Friday at the Jessie in downtown Jacksonville.
Proceeds will go to the organization’s medical fund, which helps pay for treatment for shelter animals that are ill or injured. The society said it cared for nearly 11,000 animals last year.
The evening will include small plates and desserts from more than a dozen local restaurants, plus wine, beer, music, silent auctions and a live auction. The program will also include stories from people supported by the shelter and the presentation of a featured pet.
Jacksonville Humane Society will honor Auld CEO Nathaniel Marty and White Constructors for their impact on the shelter. Pets will not be allowed at the venue, except for trained service animals.
Tickets are available by phone at 904-493-4585 or in person at the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
