SeaWorld Orlando is leaning hard into late-'90s nostalgia for Howl-O-Scream 2026, anchoring the season with a brand-new scare zone called Nekrosis. The concept drops guests into a once-thriving seaside town that stopped dead the moment the Y2K countdown hit zero — complete with a video store called Howl-O-Flix frozen in time and monsters lurking among relics of the decade. The event runs select nights from Sept. 11 through Oct. 31, 2026.
Paired with Nekrosis is The Rewind, one of five all-new themed bars debuting this year. Decorated with VHS tapes, glowing arcade lights, and ringing landlines, the bar gives guests a place to settle into the story between scares. Four other new bars round out the social spaces scattered across the park.
Beyond the Y2K zone, Howl-O-Scream 2026 features seven scare zones total — five of them new — along with five haunted houses, four carrying fresh storylines. Highlights include a house based on the 1997 film I Know What You Did Last Summer and a dark-romance garden zone called Just One More Chapter. Two fan-favorite zones, Woodrot Hollow and Trailer Park Tragedy, return for another season. The event also includes two roaming hordes, live shows at the Nautilus Theater, four rides running after dark, a 5K on Sept. 18, and a new VIP Terror Tour.
Howl-O-Scream is a separately ticketed event; gates open at 6:30 p.m. with the event starting at 7 p.m. A limited-time Killer Summer Sale brings the Unlimited Scream Pass to $112.99 (regularly $205.99), with a blockout-date version at $102.99. Single-night tickets start at $38.99 with a minimum purchase of four, and a two-park pass covering SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is $164.99. The event is designed for mature audiences; costumes are not permitted. SeaWorld Orlando is located at 7007 Sea World Drive in Orlando.
