The café has long been a popular middle-ground option at the Grand Floridian, offering a relaxed, table-service meal without the formality of the resort's more upscale dining rooms. Its location made it especially convenient for Magic Kingdom visitors looking for a comfortable break from the parks before heading back for evening festivities. By the time it reopens, the restaurant will have been off the table for more than three months.
The timing works in visitors' favor. November marks the start of Disney World's holiday season, when the Grand Floridian draws extra attention for its elaborate seasonal décor. Having the café back in the lineup gives guests one more sit-down choice during what is consistently one of the resort's busiest stretches of the year.
In the meantime, the Grand Floridian isn't short on alternatives. The resort's quick-service spot, Gasparilla Island Grill, remains open for those who prefer a lighter commitment. Guests can also hop the monorail to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Contemporary Resort for additional dining options.
