Walt Disney World’s former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is moving further into its next chapter. A general construction permit for the property at 201 S. Studio Drive has been extended through August 25, 2027, with Balfour Beatty Construction LLC listed as contractor.
Disney previously announced plans to convert the former immersive hotel into office space for Walt Disney Imagineering. The permit extension follows an original filing from August 2025 and indicates work on the specialized building remains active.
Galactic Starcruiser opened March 1, 2022, as a multi-day, story-driven Star Wars experience aboard the fictional Halcyon. Disney permanently closed it on September 30, 2023, after less than two years of guest operations.
