Work on Walt Disney World's fourth Magic Kingdom ferryboat is moving along, with aerial photographer bioreconstruct capturing fresh views of the 120-foot vessel now tucked inside a service building at the North Marina, located near Magic Kingdom and Disney's Contemporary Resort. One of the boat's two wheelhouses has been installed — a design detail shared by the existing ferries, which each have a wheelhouse at either end so they can cross the Seven Seas Lagoon without needing to turn around.
The new boat will join a fleet that currently includes the Admiral Joe Fowler, the General Joe Potter, and the Richard F. Irvine. It will be named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, the fourth president of Walt Disney World — a fitting tribute given it's the fourth boat in the fleet. Transportation Cast Members recently had the chance to sign a piece of the ferryboat before it was installed. Disney is also expanding the ferryboat dock at Magic Kingdom to prepare for the new vessel's arrival.
Also spotted at the North Marina: the Liberty Belle Riverboat, which made its final journey on Magic Kingdom's Rivers of America more than a year ago. Though retired from service, the riverboat appears to be in solid condition where it sits docked.
Nearby, a Stitch statue — removed from the World of Disney store in Disney Springs in late July for refurbishment — was visible alongside a Genie statue that also originates from World of Disney, though the Genie figure hasn't been seen at the store in years.
