Fans of Fortnite and Halloween Horror Nights are in for a crossover this fall. Universal Studios is bringing Fortnitemares — the popular in-game Halloween event from the battle royale franchise — to life as a scare zone at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood this year.
The experience, called Freaky Fields, is described as a Halloween-inspired living battleground where guests will encounter the iconic Battle Bus, familiar Fortnitemares characters, and a handful of new additions created exclusively for the event. Unlike enclosed haunted houses, scare zones are open-air environments where guests and costumed performers roam freely together. This marks the first time Fortnite has appeared at Halloween Horror Nights in any form.
Four haunted houses have already been announced for both coasts: Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn. Additional site-specific experiences are planned for Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Florida.
Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights kicks off August 28, running select nights through November 1, with Premium Scream Nights — which include perks like free food and parking — on August 27 and October 19. Universal Studios Hollywood's event begins September 3 and also runs through November 1. Single-night tickets start at $88.99 at Universal Orlando and $77 at Universal Studios Hollywood, with pricing varying by date.
