Getting around the Magic Kingdom area just got a little different. The newly constructed Floridian Way roadway opened on August 10, 2026, running between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the entrance to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Two of three planned roundabouts are now complete, both situated outside the Grand Floridian.
Drivers will notice the new lanes running parallel to the original Floridian Way, connecting to it at the Maple Road intersection near Fire Station No. 3. The old stretch of Floridian Way in that corridor is now closed. Blue road signs guide guests to temporary connector roads serving the Grand Floridian, the Wedding Pavilion, and Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, since permanent connections are still in progress.
A few construction remnants — traffic cones and exposed concrete elements — are still visible, so guests should expect some visual clutter for now. Once complete, the Grand Floridian's main entrance will connect directly to one of the permanent roundabouts, and the Wedding Pavilion is expected to receive a new entrance south of its current location. The third roundabout, planned near the Magic Kingdom parking lot, is still to come.
This stretch is Phase III of the broader World Drive North project, which Disney currently expects to wrap up in late 2027. The changes come alongside other recent traffic shifts in the area, including the permanent closure of the intersection connecting Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way — drivers must now use World Drive North to reach the Polynesian. The South Florida Water Management District has also approved a permit for a Grand Floridian parking expansion.
