If your Walt Disney World trip happens to fall on August 7, you've got a free bonus day of entertainment waiting for you. ESPN8: The Ocho is back at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for its second year at the resort — and this time it's celebrating a full decade of gloriously offbeat competition with 10 live sporting events running from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Three events are brand new to this year's lineup. Donk Toss challenges competitors to hurl an inflatable donkey at a target with precision, Roofball turns a backyard pastime into a strategic championship, and the Housekeeping Games put speed, teamwork, and hotel-inspired skills to the test. Returning crowd favorites include Slippery Stairs — the primetime closer — along with Combat Archery, USA Dodgeball, the Big League Wiffle Ball World Series, Popdarts, and the Pop-A-Shot National Championship.
The full schedule kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Wiffle Ball World Series and wraps at 9 p.m. with Slippery Stairs: Primetime Chaos Tour. In between, events run back-to-back throughout the afternoon and evening, so there's no real downtime. Fan Zones will be set up around the complex offering limited Ocho merchandise, photo opportunities, and a chance to try some of the games yourself.
Getting there is straightforward: parking is complimentary, and Walt Disney World resort guests can use Minnie Van Service through the Lyft app. Many of the day's competitions are also set to air across ESPN platforms for those watching from home. The Ocho traces its roots to the fictional ESPN8 channel from the 2004 film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and has grown into one of ESPN's most anticipated summer traditions over the past 10 years.
