A new soft-serve option at Mitsukoshi in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion is attracting enough demand that it has often sold out, according to a review from Disney Food Blog.
The Hokkaido Ice Cream is priced at $5.42 and comes in the plain milk flavor, served as a cone placed inside a container. Hokkaido-style soft-serve is made with milk from dairy cows in Japan’s Hokkaido region and is known for having less sugar than typical American ice cream, with a fluffy, creamy texture.
Disney Food Blog described the EPCOT version as light, airy and creamy, with a flavor similar to a slightly salty vanilla. Its reviewer said it was less soft and creamy than versions they had tried in Japan, though still close in flavor. The outlet also noted that it melts quickly.
