Guests staying at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort have a new lunch option to look forward to: El Mercado de Coronado has quietly rolled out a dedicated Soup and Sandwich Station, replacing what was previously a pizza-focused counter. Pizza lovers needn't worry — pies are still available at the Fire Oven Station located right next door.
The new station opens daily at 11:30 a.m. (a bit later than El Mercado's 7 a.m. opening) and currently features three grilled cheese sandwiches, each served with a 6-ounce cup of soup. The Four Cheese Grilled Cheese — a blend of Havarti, mozzarella, provolone, and white American — comes in at $18. The Raspberry & Brie Grilled Cheese, pairing creamy Brie with sweet raspberry preserves, is $18.50. At the top of the lineup is the Tomato & Bacon Grilled Cheese, loaded with crispy bacon, tomato, and a trio of cheddar, provolone, and yellow American cheeses for $19.50.
Soup is also available on its own, with a 6-ounce portion priced at $5.50 and an 8-ounce portion at $8.50. The selection rotates daily — recent offerings included a creamy tomato and a cauliflower white cheddar bisque, which should appeal to guests looking for something a little heartier than typical resort quick-service fare.
