Walt Disney World’s late-summer slowdown continued through September, according to posted wait-time data compiled by Thrill-Data.com and reviewed by Disney Tourist Blog. The site reported a 26-minute average wait across the resort for September 2026, matching September 2025 and edging below August’s 27-minute average.
The quietest run came around the turn of the month. From August 31 through September 3, average waits ranged from 15 to 16 minutes, which Disney Tourist Blog described as the lowest four-day stretch since 2021. The broader August 31-to-September 4 period ranged from 15 to 24 minutes.
That dip followed an unusually subdued summer by the report’s measure. Average waits were 27 minutes in June, July and August 2026, compared with 31 minutes in June and 30 minutes in July of 2025. The source cautioned that posted waits are an imperfect proxy for how crowded parks feel: they can be inflated and do not capture every factor affecting in-park congestion.
For visitors planning fall trips, the report expects the low-wait pattern to become less consistent as the heart of Disney World’s Halloween and holiday seasons approaches. Historically, the source says, waits begin climbing in October after reaching lower levels in late summer and September.
