Disney World's Skyliner gondola system has a pair of refurbishment windows on the calendar, and guests planning trips around EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios will want to take note. The aerial transportation system, which has operated since 2019, typically shuts down for routine maintenance in late January of most years — and that pattern holds for both 2027 and 2028.

The 2027 closure runs from January 24 through January 30, with the last day to ride being January 23 and service resuming on January 31. The 2028 closure is scheduled a touch longer: January 24 through February 2, with the final boarding day again on January 23 and reopening set for February 3.

The Skyliner connects Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT with several resort hotels, including Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Riviera Resort, and a shared station serving Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Guests at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Yacht Club Resort, and Beach Club Resort can walk to the EPCOT station at the International Gateway. During each closure, Disney will provide alternate bus service to the affected hotels, and boat transportation between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios will remain available throughout.

For context, the Skyliner skipped its annual refurbishment entirely in 2025, but otherwise has closed each January going back to 2022. The 2028 window is the longest on record in that stretch, extending just past the end of January into early February.
