More than 30 Walt Disney World attractions experienced temporary closures across all four parks on September 24, according to Disney Fanatic. The outlet attributed the disruptions to afternoon thunderstorms, sensor resets and mechanical issues.
At Magic Kingdom, the report said TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure were both down around 4 p.m., with closures lasting roughly 45 minutes to an hour. Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, Astro Orbiter and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin also had reported interruptions.
EPCOT’s Test Track had the longest reported cumulative downtime, totaling nearly two hours in separate closures. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, Journey Into Imagination with Figment and The Seas with Nemo & Friends were also affected, according to the report.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios saw multiple outages at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, including one lasting more than an hour, while Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers were among the Toy Story Land attractions affected by storm-related holds. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris and Expedition Everest were also reported to have paused operations as weather moved through the area.
