Walt Disney World has several resort refurbishment projects and a planned Disney Skyliner maintenance closure on the calendar for 2027, details that may matter for guests comparing hotel locations, pools and transportation options.

At Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas, the Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area and Leaping Horse Libations pool bar are scheduled to close from January 11 through April 2027 for routine maintenance. Guests will be able to use the resort’s leisure pools during that period.

Exterior maintenance is expected to continue through late 2027 at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where some views and walking routes may be affected. Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the Contemporary main tower atrium also have work planned through late 2027, including exterior work that may affect views and occasionally require route detours. Renovation work at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is expected to continue in select areas into early 2027, including near the covered entrance.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is scheduled to continue guest-room refurbishments at Jambo House through January 2027. At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, room updates in different areas are slated to continue through August. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is expected to finish room refurbishments at the end of January, while a multiyear room refurbishment at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is scheduled to begin in mid-June and continue through October 2028.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort also has planned work at its convention center from August 2026 through late September 2027, extending into the El Centro Corridor, where temporary partitions are in place along guest walkways. Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is expected to reopen in January 2027 after a late-2026 closure.

The Disney Skyliner is scheduled to close for annual maintenance from January 24 through January 30, 2027. The shutdown affects gondola service for Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort and Riviera Resort. Disney says complimentary buses will operate to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the closure.

Guests planning a 2027 stay can review resort maintenance dates before reserving accommodations and, for late-January trips, factor the temporary transportation change into plans for Walt Disney World tickets and vacation planning.
