Walt Disney World visitors planning October 2026 trips will find several attractions and one full water park unavailable for refurbishment, according to Disney’s current attraction and park listings.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is temporarily closed after its final scheduled operating day on September 8. Disney has not announced a reopening date and directs guests to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park during the closure. That means Typhoon Lagoon’s full lineup, including its wave pool, Castaway Creek and slides, will be unavailable to October visitors.
Blizzard Beach remains open as the resort’s available water park, though Disney lists the Slush Gusher slide as closed for refurbishment. Other listed experiences include Summit Plummet, Teamboat Springs and Toboggan Racers.
At Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad is scheduled to close for routine refurbishment beginning September 28 and is expected to reopen in November, Disney says. Disney Fanatic reported a scheduled October 30 return, which would leave the railroad unavailable from September 28 through October 29 if that date holds. The train has also been running a modified route between Main Street, U.S.A., and Fantasyland because Frontierland Station remains unavailable during Magic Kingdom construction.

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress will also remain closed throughout October. The Tomorrowland attraction has been unavailable since July 6 while Disney prepares a reworked version, with a reopening currently expected in late spring 2027.
Disney’s fall offerings are still scheduled to continue, including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights through October 31 and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival through November 21. Travelers planning Disney World tickets should check Disney’s operating calendar and attraction pages close to their travel dates, as refurbishment schedules can change.
