October at Walt Disney World will bring a mix of Halloween festivities, EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival and select late-night park access for qualifying resort guests.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled at Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31. The separately ticketed event includes Halloween-themed entertainment, characters and candy, and guests age 14 and older may wear costumes if they meet Disney’s rules. On party nights, Magic Kingdom closes to guests without party admission at 6 p.m.
EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival runs August 27 through November 21 and is included with EPCOT admission. Four final festival booths—India, The Alps, Earth Eats and Coastal Eats—are set to open October 2. The festival’s Eat to the Beat concert lineup includes Smash Mouth on October 1, The Fray on October 12 and 13, Ben Rector on October 19 and 20, Bowling For Soup on October 28 and 29, and Southbound on October 30 and 31.
Guests staying at qualifying Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts, along with several other eligible hotels, can use Extended Evening Hours on select dates. EPCOT is scheduled for 9 to 11 p.m. on October 5, 12 and 19; Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled for 9 to 11 p.m. on October 7, 14 and 28; and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on October 20 and 26.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels will also hold costume contests at 5 p.m. each Saturday in October, with a chef’s special treat for visitors wearing Halloween costumes at its sit-down restaurants, according to Disney Food Blog. Halloween-weekend activities from October 30 through November 1 are set to include a scavenger hunt, inflatable maze, crafts, hair braiding and a poolside DJ, followed by trick-or-treating on October 31.
Travelers planning Disney World tickets for October should note that party nights can affect regular Magic Kingdom evening access, while the late-night benefit is limited to eligible hotel guests.
