Walt Disney World visitors planning an October 2026 trip will encounter several operational changes across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Blizzard Beach.
At Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since September 28 and is expected to reopen sometime in November 2026. The closure removes both a classic attraction and a transportation option between areas of the park. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is also closed for an update and is not expected to return until 2027.
Magic Kingdom’s calendar also changes on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. Regular daytime guests without event tickets must leave by 6 p.m. on October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31. Visitors seeking a full evening in the park may want to account for those early closures when planning Disney World tickets.
EPCOT is scheduled to open at 10 a.m., rather than 9 a.m., on October 23 and October 25. That later opening may affect early attraction plans, dining reservations, transportation and park-hopping schedules.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has added Lilypad’s Jams at Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land. Lilypad, the frog-shaped smart tablet from Toy Story 5, serves as a DJ with remixed Toy Story music and original songs. The area also includes a doodle-guessing game, word puzzles and character “home videos.” Elsewhere in the park, daily hours and operations for The Magic of Disney Animation can vary, according to Disney Fanatic.
At Blizzard Beach, Slush Gusher remains unavailable. Disney Fanatic advises guests to check Disney’s operating calendar and app close to their visit, as attraction availability and park hours can change.
