Hauling souvenirs home from Walt Disney World just got a little less complicated — and potentially cheaper. As of September 1, the resort replaced its longtime merchandise shipping structure with a new system built around bag sizes rather than the dollar value of what's inside.

Under the previous setup, domestic shipping costs climbed steeply as the value of a shipment increased — starting at $19.99 for merchandise worth up to $100 and reaching $99.99 once a shipment exceeded $500 in value. International shipping ranged from $30 to $150, rising with each $50 increment in merchandise value. For guests who splurged on multiple big purchases, those charges could add up fast.

The new system, handled through third-party provider Ricoh, offers four standard domestic bag sizes: an extra-small green bag for $19.97, a small pink bag for $29.97, a medium blue bag for $44.97, and a large yellow bag for $49.97. Guests pack their items into the appropriate bag, scan a QR code to fill out shipping and payment details digitally, secure the bag with a provided zip-tie tag, and drop it off at a participating location. Tracking information arrives by email once Ricoh's Merchandise Shipping Center processes the package.

Each rate includes insurance coverage for up to $100 in declared value at no extra charge, with additional coverage available for shipments valued up to $5,000. Insurance for amounts beyond the included $100 starts at $5 and increases by roughly $1 to $2 per additional $100 of declared value. Guests can access the service at Disney gift shops across the resort or at a dedicated shipping station located next to the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs.
