If you're booking a Walt Disney World resort stay for 2027, it's worth doing a little extra homework before you hit confirm. Of the more than 30 hotel properties across the resort, 10 already have known refurbishments, maintenance projects, or transportation interruptions that could affect guests during some portion of the year.
A few of those disruptions are brief. The Disney Skyliner will be offline from January 24 through January 30, which matters most to guests staying at Pop Century or Art of Animation — two resorts that lean heavily on that gondola system as a selling point. All-Star Movies and Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge both have room refurbishment work running through January, so travelers arriving later in 2027 should be largely in the clear for those two.
Other projects stretch considerably longer. Beach Club is undergoing exterior maintenance through late 2027, with the possibility of construction sounds, altered views, and rerouted walking paths. Port Orleans Riverside has guest-room renovations running through August. Coronado Springs has work planned around its Convention Center and El Centro Corridor through late September, with Disney scheduling that work overnight to minimize the daytime impact. The Contemporary has refurbishments in portions of the Main Tower and Bay Lake Tower slated through late 2027 as well. The Grand Floridian has select renovations continuing into early 2027.
Families planning resort days around the pool should take particular note of BoardWalk Inn: Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations are all closing January 11 through April for maintenance. Other pools at the resort will remain open, but losing the flagship pool is a meaningful change for guests who chose the property with that amenity in mind.
