Walt Disney World visitors looking for an upscale resort atmosphere without choosing one of the highest-priced deluxe hotels have several options across Disney property, according to Mickey Visit. The choices range from a tower at a moderate resort to Marriott-operated hotels near EPCOT.
At Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, the Gran Destino Tower opened in 2019 and adds an elevated lobby, suites, Club Level offerings and a rooftop lounge to the moderate resort. Mickey Visit notes that rooms in the tower can cost more than rooms elsewhere at Coronado Springs, but are generally priced below many deluxe resort stays.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, operated by Marriott rather than Disney, sit within walking distance of EPCOT and offer boat transportation to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The hotels have multiple restaurants, lounges, large resort-style pools and access to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. The nearby Walt Disney World Swan Reserve offers another higher-end option in the same area.
For guests who prefer Disney-operated moderate resorts, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside has Magnolia Bend, an area known for its white-column mansions, landscaping and setting along the Sassagoula River. The resort also offers Royal Rooms with Princess Tiana-inspired design.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort cabins provide a different kind of premium stay, with private accommodations in a wooded setting and boat transportation to Magic Kingdom. Although the cabins are classified as deluxe accommodations, Mickey Visit says they can be priced below rooms at many other deluxe resorts.
