Disney Resort hotel guests have a firm deadline to keep in mind this season: three popular summer benefits will disappear after September 8, 2026. Guests who check in on September 9 or later will encounter a noticeably different experience than those arriving just days before.
The most talked-about perk on the chopping block is complimentary water park admission on check-in day. Through September 8, resort guests arriving at Walt Disney World receive free entry to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach — effectively turning what is often a travel day into a full vacation day. That promotion is confirmed to return in summer 2027, but it goes away once this season closes.
Also wrapping up on September 8 is Disney's Cool KIDS' SUMMER celebration, which has filled the resort with pop-up dance parties, character appearances, and interactive family activities throughout the parks. While the programming isn't limited to hotel guests, families staying onsite for multiple days have had the best opportunity to stumble upon its spontaneous entertainment across different locations.
Finally, many Disney Resort hotels have been running expanded poolside and evening recreation schedules all summer — organized games, crafts, and family programming that turned downtime between park visits into actual vacation time. Disney hasn't spelled out exactly which individual activities will wind down at each property, since schedules vary by resort, but the seasonal extras are expected to scale back as the summer promotion officially ends.
It's worth noting that core hotel benefits — Early Theme Park Entry, complimentary transportation, and priority Lightning Lane booking windows — are not affected by any of these changes and remain in place year-round. Inside the Magic first reported the September 9 cutoff date.
