Walt Disney World will mark its 55th anniversary on Oct. 1, 2026, with a morning anniversary moment, commemorative merchandise and a forward-looking message about projects underway across the resort.

Among the new items is a cream-colored mug that recalls Walt Disney World’s early identity. It features Cinderella Castle, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, a monorail and sailboats, along with the classic Walt Disney World logo and the wording “The Vacation Kingdom of the World Since 1971.”

Other anniversary merchandise spotted at World of Disney in Disney Springs and at Epcot includes a navy backpack, pullover hoodie, ear headband and light blue-green T-shirt. Mickey Mouse appears on the shirt in a Main Street, U.S.A.-inspired outfit in front of Cinderella Castle, while the backpack, hoodie and ears use emblems representing the resort’s four theme parks.

Disney said more than 70 experiences have opened or been refreshed since 2021. The company is also highlighting major expansions planned at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
