Disney's Hollywood Studios is also getting its first phase of Monstropolis in 2027, bringing a theater show, multiple dining and retail locations, and themed experiences — though the headliner door-vault roller coaster is expected later. And over at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is receiving its first major update in decades, with new scenes, voice performances by Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston, and — most notably — an Audio-Animatronic figure of Walt Disney himself in the opening scene. That refreshed attraction is expected in late spring 2027.
That said, postponing a late-2026 trip isn't automatically the right call. Guests visiting before these openings could benefit from lower crowds, and Disney's seasonal events around Halloween and Christmas have appeal of their own. The bigger risk in rescheduling is that Disney hasn't confirmed specific opening dates for any of these projects — moving a December trip to February 2027 could mean missing the new attractions entirely if they open later in the year.
