If you're driving to Disney's Hollywood Studios, the parking plaza now works a little differently. Photographs published by WDW News Today on August 8 show newly installed white lane dividers — low pavement-mounted barriers reinforced by flexible white posts — running along several approaches to the park's Auto Plaza. Once a vehicle enters one of those channels, moving sideways into an adjacent lane before reaching a booth is no longer really an option.
Hollywood Studios is the second Walt Disney World park to get this treatment. Similar white barriers showed up at EPCOT's parking entrance in June 2026, creating dedicated channels in front of its booths. Two parks with the same setup signals a deliberate design choice, though Disney has not announced the installations or explained their purpose. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom could follow, but no permit, construction document, or official statement currently confirms that.
For drivers, the practical takeaway is straightforward: the moment to evaluate lanes is before you enter a divided section, not after. Check overhead signs, pavement markings, open-booth indicators, and any Cast Member directions early. During busy arrival windows — especially around park opening — there may be no safe gap to cross once you're in a channel.
The barriers don't change anything about what you'll pay. Disney's standard theme-park parking remains $35 per day, preferred parking runs $50–$60, and oversized vehicles are charged $40. Disney Resort hotel guests and qualifying Annual Passholders still receive complimentary standard parking, and a single daily parking pass remains valid across all four parks on the same day. The new dividers affect the approach to the booths, nothing else.
