Disney Cruise Line is moving faster than expected toward a 13-ship global fleet. According to graphics included in The Walt Disney Company's fiscal third-quarter 2026 earnings materials, released August 5, the line has pulled two planned ship launches forward — meaning the full fleet will be sailing by late 2030 instead of the previously announced 2031.
The momentum behind the speed-up is hard to miss: the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure completed their first full quarter in service together, pushing the line's stateroom capacity up roughly 50% compared to the same period last year. Cruise growth was a notable contributor to a 10% revenue increase in Disney's Experiences segment for the quarter, and the company says occupancy and forward bookings remain strong.
Five new ships are on the horizon between now and the end of 2030. First up is the Disney Believe, the fourth Wish-class vessel carrying approximately 4,000 passengers, slated to debut in late 2027. Disney plans a full reveal via livestream on October 7, with some details expected to surface earlier at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, August 14–16. Then comes a packed 2029: three ships are now scheduled to launch that year, including a Wish-class ship operated by Oriental Land Company (owner of Tokyo Disney Resort) for short cruises out of Tokyo, plus the first two vessels of an entirely new mid-sized ship class designed for roughly 3,000 passengers each — a size that falls between Disney's classic Magic-class and the larger Dream-class ships. A third mid-sized sister ship rounds out the expansion with a late 2030 arrival.
The new mid-sized class is notable because smaller ships can access ports that the line's biggest vessels cannot, potentially opening up more varied itineraries for families. As total capacity grows across 13 ships, travelers may also find more departure options and more competitive pricing on Disney sailings.
