On August 7 — the opening night of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 — the outlet repeated an access experiment it first conducted in early July, this time testing conditions at Disney's Contemporary Resort under party-night circumstances.
The team parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center using a Walt Disney World Annual Pass, deliberately arriving just after 7 p.m. to avoid the heaviest wave of party guests, who can begin entering Magic Kingdom at 4 p.m. From the TTC, they boarded the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary without encountering any resort-guest restriction. Once inside, they moved through the lobby and public areas without being stopped.
Mobile ordering told a different story than their July visit. In July, a message had appeared in the My Disney Experience app limiting Contempo Café orders to guests staying at the Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower, with the option disappearing entirely after they left the property. On August 7, no such restriction appeared — the team placed an order for a Signature Rice Bowl with Chicken and a Spiced Pumpkin Cupcake from near the TTC, and the app showed the order ready by 8:02 p.m. The pedestrian walkway from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom was also open and unrestricted, with no signage about access policies beyond standard park rules.
After picking up their food and exploring the resort, the team continued to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort by boat from Magic Kingdom around 8:45 p.m., again without any restriction, before looping back to the TTC on foot. It's worth noting, though, that the outlet is clear this reflects one specific night's conditions — not permanent Disney policy. The outlet emphasizes that Labor Day weekend, late September, and much of October bring heavier demand to the Magic Kingdom Resort area, and Disney can adjust transportation, parking, and access procedures based on operational needs at any time.
