The Disney Believe is moving from blueprint to reality. Natacha Rafalski, President of Disney Signature Experiences, recently visited the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany alongside Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams, sharing construction photos that offer the clearest look yet at the new ship's progress.
One image shows the group standing beneath the ship's towering funnel, which is already sporting its raised Disney Cruise Line emblem — though the steel exterior is still coated in reddish-brown primer. Scaffolding and construction equipment fill the enclosed building hall around them. A second photo captures Rafalski and colleagues holding small freshly cut steel components, each stamped with hull number 723, the Disney Believe's Meyer Werft designation.
Disney officially announced the Disney Believe during its March 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. It will be the cruise line's ninth ship and the fourth vessel in the Wish class, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and the upcoming Disney Destiny. Where those ships lean into enchantment, adventure, and heroes and villains respectively, the Disney Believe is themed around "promise and possibilities."
Onboard experiences are expected to draw from stories featuring characters who believe in themselves and their dreams. Disney has pointed to Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid as inspirations, though specific attractions, dining, and entertainment have not yet been announced.
The Disney Believe is slated to debut in late 2027, as Disney Cruise Line works toward a 13-ship fleet by 2031. This report originally appeared on WDW News Today.
