The first of three massive construction sections for Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming Disney Believe has floated out of the construction hall at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
Disney Believe is scheduled to debut in late 2027. The ship is being assembled using a “gigablock” approach, in which large, largely outfitted sections are later welded together. Each block weighs more than 31,000 tons and includes features such as walls, plumbing and wiring, according to DataPortuaria.
The first section contains the middle of the ship, including the area that will house the Grand Hall. Meyer Werft is expected to complete the forward block next, followed by the aft section.
At about 144,000 gross tons, Disney Believe is expected to accommodate up to 4,000 passengers in 1,254 staterooms. It will be the fourth Wish-class ship, following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

Disney Cruise Line has said the vessel will introduce new venues and entertainment drawing on stories including Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid. The line also plans to add 13 ships over the next several years, with additional next-generation ships expected in 2029 and late 2030.
