Disney Cruise Line has set October 7, 2026 as the date it will pull back the curtain on the Disney Believe, its next new ship. The announcement will come via a company livestream, giving fans their first real look at the vessel's details after months of anticipation.
The Believe will be the fourth ship in Disney's Wish class, tipping the scales at 140,000 gross tons. Disney describes its theme as being inspired by "promise, possibility, and what lies beyond the horizon," and the ship is expected to feature experiences tied to the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars universes. Delivery from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
Disney is adding a live event to make October 7 even more of an occasion. Guests sailing aboard the Disney Wish on its October 5, 2026 four-night Bahamas cruise — departing from Port Canaveral — will be treated to a one-night-only performance inspired by the new ship, featuring actress and singer Susan Egan. The itinerary includes stops at both of Disney's private islands, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
The Believe is far from Disney's only ship on order. The line has three additional vessels under construction at Meyer Werft, slated for delivery between 2029 and 2031. Those ships will be slightly smaller at 105,000 gross tons and will introduce an entirely new design still in development. A separate Wish-class ship is also being built through a partnership with Japan-based Oriental Land Co., intended to sail the Japanese market year-round.
