Weather can have an outsized effect on a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park currently has six traditional rides: Avatar Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Wildlife Express Train.
Four of those experiences—Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Wildlife Express Train—can be affected by inclement weather. If all four pause, the two Pandora attractions are the park’s remaining traditional rides, representing a substantial change for visitors focused on ride time.
The timing is notable as Disney transforms the former DinoLand U.S.A. into the 11-acre Tropical Americas land, planned to open in 2027 with experiences inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones. DINOSAUR and TriceraTop Spin have already closed as part of that work.
