One of Magic Kingdom's oldest dining spots is stepping out of Liberty Tree Tavern's shadow. Walt Disney World has announced that The Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland will launch an all-new pop-up food and beverage experience this fall, replacing the family-style Thanksgiving-inspired meal the restaurant has shared with its neighbor for years.
Disney has already previewed a handful of items on the incoming menu, including a charcuterie board with cured beef, smoked pork, cheeses, and pickles, alongside drinks like a strawberry hot honey lemonade with a chili-lime rim and a prickly pear margarita. The concept is designed around a more casual, drop-in vibe — walk-up guests will be welcome, though reservation details will be released closer to opening. Additional menu items are also still to come.
Fans of the old format won't be left hungry. Disney confirmed that the beloved Thanksgiving feast — think roast turkey, pot roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese — isn't going anywhere; it's simply staying put next door at Liberty Tree Tavern where it originated.
The shift feels less surprising when you consider what happened earlier this summer. Disney briefly converted The Diamond Horseshoe into Jessie's Roundup, a Toy Story-themed limited-time experience that gave the historic building a completely different personality. That experiment appears to have paved the way for this more permanent-feeling pivot toward an independent identity for the space.
The restaurant's reinvention is also unfolding against a much larger backdrop of change in Frontierland, where construction on Piston Peak National Park and a future Villains Land expansion are already reshaping the land considerably. Whether the new Diamond Horseshoe concept becomes a long-term fixture or another chapter in its storied history is still an open question, but the dual-menu era with Liberty Tree Tavern is clearly over.
