Construction walls have been removed from outside the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park, ending a roughly two-month project near the character dining restaurant.
Work began in late July around a section of walkway near the restaurant. According to Inside the Magic, the area was repaved, widened and fitted with additional railings. Walt Disney World Resort did not publicly announce the project.
WDWNT reported on September 28 that the plywood barriers were gone, although rolling planters still blocked access to part of the resurfaced space. The area appears to include a new curb and railings designed to match the existing landscaping.
Disney has not said how the dead-end space will be used. Inside the Magic noted it could potentially serve as stroller parking or a waiting area for families with Crystal Palace reservations, but no purpose has been confirmed.
