Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs is rolling out a full lineup of community events from now through Halloween, with something on the calendar nearly every weekend in September and October.
Things kick off September 12 with the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk, a 7–10:30 a.m. event honoring firefighter Stephen Siller and supporting first responders and military members — this year marks its 14th anniversary at the park. Registration is required. The following Saturday, September 19, the Uptown Vibes Food Truck Extravaganza returns from 6 to 10 p.m., bringing more than 20 food and dessert vendors, specialty shopping and live music from Sheila and the Sound Band. Admission is free. September rounds out with the Big Beth Revival Tour on the 26th, an outdoor ministry event featuring gospel worship on a converted semi-truck stage.
October shifts into a mix of cultural celebrations and Halloween fun. Hola at the Park on October 3 spotlights Hispanic culture and entrepreneurship through food, entertainment and wellness activities. Mid-month brings the Animayhem Halloween Market on October 11 — complete with trunk-or-treat, a costume contest and an artist alley — followed by the Loc Party Orlando on October 17, a ticketed celebration of loc culture featuring DJs, fashion and a marketplace.
Animal lovers will want to mark October 24 for the 13th annual Howl-o-ween Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest, a free morning event from 9 a.m. to noon benefiting local animal welfare. The season wraps up on October 31 with Halloween at Cranes Roost Park, a free family night from 5 to 9 p.m. offering candy around the lake, costume contests, photo ops and live music.
